On 21 January, Manoah had the honour of attending the official announcement of Cabaret plan by the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, at the famous Moulin Rouge. This ambitious plan aims to support and promote the art of cabaret, an essential pillar of our cultural and artistic heritage.
This initiative reaffirms the importance of cabaret in the French cultural landscape and highlights the richness of our traditions. But cabaret is not limited to its heritage: it is above all a space for freedom, creation and expression. Venues such as The blue star are living proof of this. Every evening, we present shows that blend tradition and modernity, at the crossroads of the arts.
An expected recognition
This announcement by the Minister of Culture marks a turning point for our art. By supporting the inscription of cabarets on the national inventory of intangible cultural heritage, the Cabaret Plan offers new visibility to our establishments. A welcome initiative that serves as a reminder that the cabaret is not just a performance venue: it is a true player in cultural creation and the worldwide rayonnement of French art.
A promising future for the art of cabaret
This recognition comes at a time when cabarets are experiencing a real renaissance. With nearly 3 million viewers each year Within the 200 cabarets across France, we are no longer those dim, forgotten places. Today, our shows resonate with the times, offering modern and varied revues that appeal to a broad, diverse, and curious audience.
The adventure of the Blue Star
À The blue star, this potential inscription has a particular resonance. When we took over this centenarian theatre, it was not only necessary to revitalise an abandoned place but also to give it a new soul. We rose to this challenge with passion and dedication, creating an inclusive, warm and innovative space. Today, with 35,000 spectators per year, our cabaret is a symbol of this renewal: a place where the stage comes alive, where dreams become reality, and where art transcends borders.
This recognition is also the result of a collective effort. I am proud to be part of this great cabaret family and to work alongside my 200 fellow cabaret directors, artists, technicians, and enthusiasts who bring this unique art form to life. Together, we continue to innovate, create unique experiences, and make cabaret a true cultural driver.
The path remains long for this inscription to be effective, but the future looks promising. Thank you to all those who support our cultural venues and contribute to making the cabaret stars shine. Let us continue to perpetuate this precious art for future generations.
Meet at The blue star to share this magic with us!
